By accessing or using this website, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with any of it, please do not use the site.

About us. This website is owned and operated by The Returning Project, LLC, a Louisiana limited liability company. When these terms say "we," "us," or "our," that is who we mean. When we say "you," we mean you, the person using the site.

Content and intellectual property. All content on this site, including writing, images, photographs, graphics, logos, and downloadable materials, is the property of The Returning Project and Bonnie Canal unless otherwise noted. You are welcome to read it, share a link to it, and reference it. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute it for commercial use without written permission from us.

What this site is and is not. The content shared here is for educational and reflective purposes. It is not medical advice, legal advice, psychological advice, or professional counseling. Reading what we write, participating in a workshop, joining the email list, or engaging with us in any format does not create a therapeutic, legal, or professional relationship between you and us. If you are in crisis or need support that qualifies as professional care, please reach out to a qualified provider in your area.

How you agree to use the site. You agree to use this site lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to use the site to harass others, post unlawful content, attempt to breach security, scrape or data-mine the site, impersonate anyone, or use any part of the site to advertise or sell goods and services of your own. We reserve the right to restrict or remove access at any time if any of this happens.

User-submitted content. If you post a comment on a blog or submit a message through the Connect form, you are responsible for what you write. By submitting, you give us permission to read, respond to, and, where it makes sense, display it publicly on the site. We may remove anything we consider inappropriate, off-topic, or harmful to others.

Third-party links. This site may link out to other websites we do not own or control, including social media platforms and email services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites. Visiting them is at your own discretion.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Returning Project, LLC, and Bonnie Canal are not liable for any damages arising from your use of this website or its content. If a court finds us liable for any reason, our total liability is limited to $100 or the amount you have paid us in the last twelve months, whichever is less.

Dispute resolution. If a dispute arises between you and us, we both agree to try to resolve it informally first. You agree to contact us at bonnie@thereturningproject.com and give us at least thirty days to work it out before pursuing any formal action. If we cannot resolve it, any dispute will be handled through binding arbitration in Louisiana rather than court. You agree that any claim must be brought within one year of the event giving rise to it, or it is waived.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date below. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
