Some People Miss the Old Me

Not everyone celebrates when you grow.

Some people get confused.
Some get uncomfortable.
Some get quieter.
Some push harder.

And some quietly miss the version of you who was easier.

The one who said yes quickly.
Who explained everything.
Who adjusted without being asked.
Who carried more than her share.

I used to think that meant I was doing something wrong.

Now I think it means something has shifted.

When you stop over-giving, the balance changes.
When you stop over-explaining, the rules change.
When you stop shrinking, the room feels different.

Not everyone likes that.

And that is okay.

Growth is not about being more impressive.

It is about being more honest.

Some people will grow with you.
Some will not.

Both can be true without either being a failure.

I am learning to let that be enough.

Inhale. Inward. Onward. Go.
Exhale. Onward. Upward. Go.

Apparently, personal growth is inconvenient.
Still doing it.

With you,
Bonnie
