Here Is What We Know Now
We spent this month in the territory of the hinge.
The before that does not announce itself. The last time we did not know was the last time. The fire that was already burning before anyone turned the lights on. The system that went down not because it was weak but because it met something it was never designed for.
None of this is comfortable territory. We know that. We also know that comfort was never the point.
Here is what we know now that we did not have words for a month ago.
The before was real and we were in it. Not asleep. Not careless. Present, right up until the moment we were not.
The moment that seemed to start it was usually not where it started. The story begins earlier, in all the quiet mornings before anyone noticed.
What we called falling apart was usually the system expanding to hold something new. Not breaking. Growing. Those look identical from the inside and nothing like each other from the outside, and most of us have been getting them confused for a long time.
And this: we are still here. Having lived the hinge, having been in the before and the after, having stayed in the reboot while it ran. We are still here.
That is not nothing. That is actually everything.
What comes next is the I don’t knows. The standing at the edge. The moment the old way has stopped working and the new way has not arrived yet. If this arc landed for you, that one is where we go next.
If this landed for you, share it with one woman who needs to read it today.
