Same Body. Two Different Women.
We are used to thinking of ourselves as one consistent person moving through the day.
And in the ways that matter most, we are. The values, the history, the accumulated self that has been showing up for decades. That continuity is real and it is important.
But inside that continuity, there is more variety than we usually give ourselves credit for. The woman who walks into a particular room is not exactly the same woman who walks out of it. The woman who has just gotten off a certain phone call brings something into the next conversation that was not there before. The woman who slept well is different in small and real ways from the woman who did not.
This is not instability. This is how human beings actually work. We are responsive systems. We are in constant exchange with everything around us and everything inside us. The idea that we should be identical across all conditions is not a standard we would apply to anything else and we should probably stop applying it to ourselves.
Same body. Different inside conditions. Different woman, in that moment, in that room. All of them are you. None of them is less you than the others. They are all the truth of you responding to different inside weather.
You are not inconsistent. You are alive.
